Privacy Policy for Cahoots

Cahoots ("the App") is developed and published by Amun Studios LLC ("Amun Studios," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App does and does not handle, and what our advertising partner collects.

The short version: we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Everything you do in Cahoots stays on your device. Our advertising provider, Google AdMob, does collect advertising identifiers in order to serve ads. Details are below.

1. Information We Collect

Amun Studios collects nothing.

We operate no servers, no accounts, no databases, and no analytics for this App. We cannot see your player names, your answers, your scores, your streaks, or anything else you do inside Cahoots. We have no way to identify you.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

Cahoots saves the following data locally on your device so the App remembers your progress between sessions:

  • Player names and selected avatars

  • Point totals and game history

  • Day streak count and unlocked rewards

  • Selected spice level and other app settings

  • Answers you enter during gameplay, such as in Two Truths & a Lie or How Well Do You Know Me?

This information is written to your device's local application storage. It is never uploaded, synced, backed up to our systems, or shared with us or anyone else. It is not accessible to us under any circumstances.

To delete this data: uninstall the App, or use any in-app reset option where provided. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data permanently.

Note that if you have enabled iCloud Backup or Google Backup at the operating-system level, your device may include the App's local data in your personal device backup. That backup is controlled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, not by us.

3. Advertising

Cahoots is free to use and is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob, a service operated by Google LLC.

To serve ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)

  • Device information such as model, operating system version, and language

  • General location inferred from IP address, typically at country or region level

  • Ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped

This collection is performed by Google, not by Amun Studios. We do not receive this data. We can see only aggregate, anonymous performance metrics in our AdMob dashboard, such as total impressions and revenue.

Your advertising choices

On iOS: Cahoots presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before requesting personalized ads. If you decline, you will receive non-personalized ads. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

On Android: You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads, and enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization."

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: Cahoots displays a Google-certified consent message on first launch that lets you accept or refuse personalized advertising. You can revisit this choice from the App's settings screen.

Declining personalized ads does not remove ads from the App. It means the ads you see will be less relevant to you.

4. Internet Connectivity

Cahoots does not require an internet connection to play. All game content is bundled with the App. A connection is used only to load advertisements. If your device is offline, the App will continue to function normally and simply will not display ads.

5. Children's Privacy

Cahoots is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

The App contains mature and suggestive themes and is rated accordingly on both stores. We have declared to Apple and Google that the App is not directed at children, and we do not participate in Google Play's Designed for Families program or Apple's Kids Category.

If you believe a child has used this App, uninstalling it removes all locally stored data. Because we collect nothing, there is no account or record for us to delete.

6. Data Sharing and Sale

Amun Studios does not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information, because we do not collect any. The only third party that receives data in connection with the App is Google AdMob, as described in Section 3.

We may disclose information if legally required to do so, but as a practical matter we hold no user data to disclose.

7. Data Security

Because Cahoots stores information only on your device and transmits no personal data to us, the security of your in-app data depends on the security of your device. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock, particularly given the personal nature of some game content.

Data transmitted between the App and Google's ad servers is encrypted in transit.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Privacy laws in various jurisdictions — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and similar state and national laws — give you rights over personal information held about you, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.

Amun Studios holds no personal information about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or transfer. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

9. International Users

Cahoots is operated from the United States. Because we do not collect or transmit personal information, no international transfer of your data to us occurs. Google may process advertising data across international borders under its own policies and safeguards.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, our advertising partners, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
