xZodiaq — Amun Studios LLC

Amun Studios LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the xZodiaq mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built xZodiaq to be privacy-first: your personal astrological data stays on your device and is never sent to us or stored on our servers.

1. The Short Version

We think privacy policies should be readable, so here is the summary:

  • Your birth details stay on your phone. Your name, birth date, birth time, and birth place are stored only in local storage on your device. We never receive, transmit, or store them on any server we control.

  • We have no accounts and no cloud. There is no sign-up, no login, and no cloud backup operated by us.

  • One outside lookup during setup. When you type a city to find your birthplace, the text you type is sent to a third-party geocoding service to convert it into map coordinates. Nothing else about you is attached.

  • Ads are shown through Google AdMob, which may collect certain device and usage information as described below.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not operate any user accounts, databases, or cloud storage that receive your personal information. Specifically, we never receive or store your name, birth date, birth time, or birth location. This information is entered by you and saved only in the App's local storage on your own device. If you delete the App, this locally stored information is removed along with it.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To generate your birth chart, horoscopes, and compatibility readings, the App stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Your details: the name you enter (optional), birth date, birth time, and birth place.

  • Compatibility inputs: any name and birthday you enter for another person to calculate a match.

  • Chart calculations: the astrological placements the App computes from your birth details.

All of the above is processed on your device using astronomical formulas and remains on your device. We do not have access to it.

4. The One External Request: City Search

During onboarding, when you search for your birthplace, the App sends the text you type to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API (open-meteo.com) to look up the latitude and longitude of that location.

  • What is sent: only the search text you type (for example, a city name).

  • What is not sent: your name, birth date, birth time, or any identifier tying the search to you.

  • When it happens: only during the city-search step of onboarding. The App makes no further calls to this service afterward.

Open-Meteo is a free, keyless service. Its handling of requests is governed by its own terms and privacy practices, available at open-meteo.com/en/terms.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays a banner advertisement served through Google AdMob, a service provided by Google. To serve ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process certain information from your device, which may include:

  • Device identifiers (such as an advertising ID), IP address, and general device information.

  • App usage and interaction data relevant to serving and measuring ads.

  • Approximate, non-precise location inferred from your IP address.

This information is collected directly by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's privacy policies. You can review how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your ad choices. You can limit ad personalization through your device settings — on iOS via Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and on Android via Settings > Google > Ads. You may also reset or delete your advertising identifier there.

6. Legal Bases and Your Rights (GDPR / EEA & UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process the limited information described here on the following legal bases: performance of the service you requested (local chart calculations and the city lookup you initiate), and consent (for personalized advertising, where required). Because we do not hold your personal data on our servers, most data subject requests relating to your birth details can be exercised directly by you — by editing your details in the App or deleting the App.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For advertising data collected by Google, please use Google's controls and refer to Google's privacy policy. For any request you believe we can assist with, contact us using the details below.

7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information a business collects about you, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the use of advertising identifiers for personalized advertising through AdMob may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" under the CCPA/CPRA.

How to opt out: you can opt out of personalized advertising using your device's ad settings and App Tracking Transparency controls described in Section 5. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. To make a request, contact us at info@amun-studios.com.

8. Children's Privacy

xZodiaq is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because birth details are stored only on the device and are not transmitted to us, we do not receive such information in the ordinary course. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App in a way that transmitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Data Retention

Because your personal details live only on your device, they are retained until you edit or clear them within the App or uninstall the App. We do not retain copies. Information collected by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's own retention policies.

10. Security

We designed the App so that your sensitive birth information does not leave your device, which reduces exposure. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and while we take reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information handled by third-party services such as Google AdMob or the geocoding provider.

11. International Users

The App is available in multiple regions. The city-search request and advertising services may involve processing in countries outside your own. By using the App, you understand that these third-party services may process the limited data described here in accordance with their own policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and make the updated policy available within the App or through the app store listing. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
